Avery and Associates: Tallahassee’s source for home loan solutions
Whereas many banks say “no,” Avery and Associates says “yes.” Founded in 2000 by Mike Avery and Brian Vincent, the mortgage company serves Tallahassee as a source for locating the right loan fit among various lenders. Susan Darden joined the team as a loan officer and has enjoyed propelling the company’s purposes.
Raised in Ft. Walton, Susan first moved to Tallahassee over 30 years ago to attend school; she, like many residents of the area, fell in love with the community and has never left. She spent the bulk of her career working for Embarq and after 28 years, retired. An avid believer that career changes can be beneficial and exciting, Susan then worked in real estate for a few years as a closing consultant. That job, she explains, helped prepare her for her work as a loan officer with Avery and Associates today.
The goal at Avery and Associates is to access its multiple lenders – of which there are approximately 40 – and provide the best home loan solution for its client. Susan explains that when clients have a need, the company then does the leg work to achieve the best possible end. First, Avery and Associates gathers the details of the situation; next, the loan officer will anticipate questions lenders have and attempt to answer those questions before they are asked. By doing so, the client’s file can be submitted cleanly and returned with minimal conditions. Susan notes how relieved clients feel when they don’t have to face another “no” from a bank. Overall, Avery and Associates handles purchases and refinances and offers conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans, as well as reverse mortgages; additionally, it offers insurance quotes. Susan believes in the process and is constantly reassured by the word of mouth referrals from past clients and bank lenders.
When Susan is not working, she enjoys spending time with her two siblings, both of whom live locally. She also likes to read and cook. Susan is optimistic about the market and sees it getting better as more people start purchasing homes. She is especially fond of helping first time buyers prepare for that big purchase. It is important to her to give encouragement and helpful information to clients so that they can qualify for necessary loans. As someone who loves numbers and helping people, Susan looks forward to more years of serving home buyers of Tallahassee through Avery and Associates.
