Tallahassee Law Enforcement Officers went to bat Sunday for the Special Olympics.

The Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy held it's 1st annual Showdown softball game Sunday afternoon.

It began with a Home-run Derby where anyone could play a game of softball for a $5 donation.

Then the Leon County Special Olympics team played a few innings and finally the big event took over the diamond in a game between Law Enforcement Officers and Florida Highway Patrol Basic Recruit Classes.

"It's a good event, law enforcement is out here working hard and we like to give back to the community and special Olympics is a great charity to donate to." says Sherrie Bennett a Basic Recruit Class Student and Volunteer for the Showdown Softball game.

All money raised goes toward the the Leon County Special Olympics Team.
