November 17, 2008

Even though it might be a little cold for swimming in the Gulf, the local health Department continues to take water samples from popular swimming areas. This week there are two swimming advisories in FranklinCounty. The local health department said all of the swimming areas on St.GeorgeIsland came back with clean water samples. Carrabelle beach and Alligator Point, however, continue to remain under swimming advisories which means there is bacteria in the water which could pose a hazard to swimmers. Wakulla county beaches at Mash’s Island and Shell Point also remain under swimming advisories this week – There are no advisories issued for the 6 beaches tested in Gulf County.
