Through 1/29/10 - A group exhibition showcasing four artists who challenge traditional artistic methods and techniques. Pyramid Studios is a regional nonprofit organization which exists to meet the needs of developmentally disabled individuals through a variety of programs including the arts. A Tribute to the Ed Sullivan Show is a Capital City Playhouse production written and directed by Mark A. Marple. Featuring the stars of our community reenacting appearaces by the iconic guests in the 23 years of Ed Sullivan's longest running TV variety show. Come join us for dinner, show, dancing and champagne toast. The Beatles, Ray Charles, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darrin, The Carpenters are just a few who will entertain you for the evening. Fun and energetic dancing for all ages. Contra dancing is similar to square dancing but performed in lines where couples progress. A live string band plays jigs, reels and old-time tunes. A caller teaches each dance before music begins. No partner or experience required. First timers should arrive by 7:30 for lessons. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes.

The Big Bend Area Health Education Center will be holding a series of free classes/support groups for those who want to quit smoking. The next series will begin on Thursday, Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. and will be held each Thursday at the same time through Feb. 18. For those of you who made the quit smoking New Year’s Resolution this is a great opportunity for you! There is also a Diabetes program being held Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. in our Children’s Room.

Through 1/29/10 - A group exhibition showcasing four artists who challenge traditional artistic methods and techniques. Pyramid Studios is a regional nonprofit organization which exists to meet the needs of developmentally disabled individuals through a variety of programs including the arts. Art from the FSU Art Students League will be showcased in the Nan Boynton Memorial Gallery. First Friday opening Dec. 4, 6-9 p.m.; after that regular gallery hours. A week stay at a beautiful 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom beach house and carriage house located in Rosemary Beach, Florida will be raffled off. Tickets will be available January 1st for a $25 donation per raffle ticket. Tickets are available on the web at www.elcbigbend.org or by calling 385-0551. Ask about the “Sweetheart Deal” and your individual donation of $100 will get 5 raffle tickets for the price of 4. (Limit one Sweetheart Deal per person).
Fun and energetic dancing for all ages. Contra dancing is similar to square dancing but performed in lines where couples progress. A live string band plays jigs, reels and old-time tunes. A caller teaches each dance before music begins. No partner or experience required. First timers should arrive by 7:30 for lessons. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes.

Great for Valentines Day
For first quarter 2010, BPW teamed up with the Zonta Club of Tallahassee to collect new towel and twin sheet sets for women seeking shelter at the Refuge House, a local safe haven for victims of domestic and sexual violence. When women and their children ready to leave the Refuge House and reenter society, they often do so with nothing of their own. These towel and sheet sets will give them something to take with them as they build a new life free of abuse.

For first quarter 2010, BPW teamed up with the Zonta Club of Tallahassee to collect new towel and twin sheet sets for women seeking shelter at the Refuge House, a local safe haven for victims of domestic and sexual violence. When women and their children ready to leave the Refuge House and reenter society, they often do so with nothing of their own. These towel and sheet sets will give them something to take with them as they build a new life free of abuse.

A week stay at a beautiful 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom beach house and carriage house located in Rosemary Beach, Florida will be raffled off. Tickets will be available January 1st for a $25 donation per raffle ticket. Tickets are available on the web at www.elcbigbend.org or by calling 385-0551. Ask about the “Sweetheart Deal” and your individual donation of $100 will get 5 raffle tickets for the price of 4. (Limit one Sweetheart Deal per person).
Fun and energetic dancing for all ages. Contra dancing is similar to square dancing but performed in lines where couples progress. A live string band plays jigs, reels and old-time tunes. A caller teaches each dance before music begins. No partner or experience required. First timers should arrive by 7:30 for lessons. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes.

For first quarter 2010, BPW teamed up with the Zonta Club of Tallahassee to collect new towel and twin sheet sets for women seeking shelter at the Refuge House, a local safe haven for victims of domestic and sexual violence. When women and their children ready to leave the Refuge House and reenter society, they often do so with nothing of their own. These towel and sheet sets will give them something to take with them as they build a new life free of abuse.

Through 1/29/10 - A group exhibition showcasing four artists who challenge traditional artistic methods and techniques. Pyramid Studios is a regional nonprofit organization which exists to meet the needs of developmentally disabled individuals through a variety of programs including the arts. The Early Learning Coalition is excited to announce their 2nd Annual Sweetheart Raffle. A week stay at a beautiful 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom beach house and carriage house located in Rosemary Beach, Florida will be raffled off. Tickets will be available January 1st for a $25 donation per raffle ticket. Tickets are available on the web at www.elcbigbend.org or by calling 385-0551. Ask about the “Sweetheart Deal” and your individual donation of $100 will get 5 raffle tickets for the price of 4. (Limit one Sweetheart Deal per person).
Fun and energetic dancing for all ages. Contra dancing is similar to square dancing but performed in lines where couples progress. A live string band plays jigs, reels and old-time tunes. A caller teaches each dance before music begins. No partner or experience required. First timers should arrive by 7:30 for lessons. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes.

For first quarter 2010, BPW teamed up with the Zonta Club of Tallahassee to collect new towel and twin sheet sets for women seeking shelter at the Refuge House, a local safe haven for victims of domestic and sexual violence. When women and their children ready to leave the Refuge House and reenter society, they often do so with nothing of their own. These towel and sheet sets will give them something to take with them as they build a new life free of abuse.
