Trusteria – What Does It Mean?
Many people have asked “Where did the name Trusteria come from?” Well, it all started with our desire to expand on the current concept of doing business regionally (locally). In this culture of increased dependence on computers, e-mail and the Internet, it seems that an emphasis on relationships has been replaced with the need for immediate feedback and convenience. We decided that instead of fighting it, we could use it for the benefit of local business as well – helping people connect within our region instead of looking outside of it. Thus began the idea of Trusteria.com -- a tool for regional consumers, businesses and non-profits to do more business together.
When thinking about a name, the first question was what was the real advantage in seeking regional businesses? Well, they are what fuels our economy, and it is easier to do business with someone you know or that somebody you trust knows. That is how the “Trust” in Trusteria came about.
Unfortunately, Trust.com was taken and didn’t do much for us anyway. Then, one day, I was driving down the road and heard my daughter say something about a book she was reading. Something in the name made me think of “eria,” and knowing that we wanted trust in the name, TRUSTERIA was born.
This site is about doing good business and networking with others in the area. It is our hope that Trusteria.com will become the first place people go to do good business in our region. Thank you for visiting Trusteria.com.
