With devout faith and a passion for helping people realize their abilities and dreams, Dr. Joseph Amanfu founded Seed Word Communications. He has spent all his adult life committed to the betterment of community members through various avenues.
It is perhaps Joseph’s diverse background that makes him so capable of benefiting a variety of people. Born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, Joseph underwent his first round of studies in his homeland. In addition to his initial training as a computer programmer with IBM in 1971 and further computer science education at the University of Ghana, he worked in various lucrative positions in Ghana for 12 years. He then moved to the United States and has spent the past 29 years furthering his education, career and family. As an American citizen, Joseph received his master’s and doctorate degrees in Information Technology while working for prestigious companies like American General, First Data Corporation, Compaq and Hewlett-Packard.
He has a total of 38 years experience in the corporate world, with the last 11 years managing Hewlett-Packard’s worldwide telecom projects as a Senior Global Program Manager. He has been very successful in relationship building and leadership development. He completed leadership assignments in Brazil, Canada, Germany, Ghana, Japan, Nigeria, Sierra-Leone, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey and the USA. He has served as officer in several professional organizations in different countries. He was certified by Boston University to teach in their Management Development Programs and was an instructor in project management at the Graduate School of Engineering at the Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Plano, Texas. He is also a Certified Life and Leadership Coach with clients in different countries. Dr. Amanfu is an excellent motivational speaker with a great presentation style.
In the midst of his busy lifestyle, Joseph settled in Tallahassee, where he now integrates all his skills and experiences into Seed Word Communications, providing coaching and services in Leadership Development, Book Publishing and Public Speaking.
His passion for his work stems from helping individuals discover their worth and potential and then motivating them to capitalize on their unique capabilities.
When Joseph is not serving his clients, he gives back to the community he has come to know as home. He is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, Project Management Institute and a member of the faculty at the Center for Biblical Studies. As a hobby and personal refreshment, he offers free tennis lessons to children and loves to go fishing. Joseph and his wife are also heavily involved in their church.
Though Joseph has encountered two completely different worlds by living in both Africa and the United States; though he is highly educated and has many years of global work experience; at the end of the day, he just loves helping his community members in Tallahassee recognize their greatness. Joseph is grateful for the opportunity to do what he does and looks forward to future years of providing individuals with the tools to reach the next level in their lives.
