Burnt out on retail and ready to make a profound difference in other peoples’ lives, Mark Raciappa started his own business in 1992. Today, he uses the most recent version of the holding company, ActionCOACH, to better equip business owners for their goals. He has devoted the past three years to his endeavor in Tallahassee.

After growing up in Central Florida, Mark moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University. He attained his bachelor’s degree in business, and then jumped into the retail industry for the next 33 years. Throughout his career, Mark recognized a need for professional training and motivating and decided to pursue that avenue himself. He attended a Dale Carnegie eight week course on customer relations in the early 1980’s and never felt the same afterward. Mark was deeply moved and considers the experience one of the most significant and beneficial of his life. From there, he delved into countless seminars and workshops to develop skills in team building, management, customer relations and the like. Today he incorporates all that and more into ActionCOACH.

As a business coach in Tallahassee, Mark offers seminars, training and mentoring for his clients. His services include four key components. First, he helps business owners articulate their goals. Once those goals are established, it is critical for clients to believe in the achievability of them. Mark emphasizes a favorite quote of his: there are no unrealistic goals—only unrealistic time frames. The third step then, is to implement the ActionCOACH proprietary system to help clients get where they need to be in business. Mark’s job is still not over, though, as he continues to keep his clients accountable for their plans, dreams and activities; essentially, he checks in with them to motivate, evaluate and train. Mark finds that his clients most appreciate the results; they can work less, make more, and get the most out of their companies.

In addition to heading the franchise, Mark devotes time to his community. He is an active member of the Tallahassee chamber of commerce, serving as the chair of leads group five and co-chair of nuts and bolts. He is also involved with BNI, BPW, the local Kiwanis club and his church.

The economic downturn has created a greater need than ever for capable and efficient business men and women. Mark’s job is to maximize the potential of such individuals. He loves what he does and looks forward to years ahead of connecting with people who want to improve and excel.
