FASTSIGNS: Fast Turnaround and Lasting Customer Relations
After spending 20 years serving Tallahassee through law enforcement, Jeff Herig wanted to start a business of his own. Particularly interested in the technology used to create signs and graphics, he joined the FASTSIGNS Franchise and opened a store in Tallahassee in 2000. For the past nine years, he and his staff have enjoyed living up to their name, FASTSIGNS, through quick turnaround, while simultaneously developing long-term customer relations.
Jeff’s store is one of about 500 in the country; of the 40 or so locations in Florida, he runs the only Tallahassee branch of FASTSIGNS and therefore devotes his efforts to helping the community’s businesses flourish through effective signage. Jeff and his staff offer ideas and solutions for any sign project—including interior, exterior, trade show, exhibit displays and more—and can fulfill orders of all sizes. Some of the many products offered include but are not limited to: banners, yard signs, site signs, plaques and logos. The store also has enormous in-house printing capability, as it owns the largest flat bed printer in Tallahassee. Though Jeff is committed to fast turnaround in quality products, his priority is in developing relationships with the customers he and his team of 10 serve. It is important to him to only hire nice people with good character. He believes elements of the sign industry can be taught, whereas how to be a good person cannot. Having the staff he does allows for a fun atmosphere in the store where customer relations can naturally develop.
In addition to valuing lasting relations with his customers, Jeff values positive relationships with community members. Therefore, the store supports various nonprofits and events each year through signage discounts and donations. In his free time, he enjoys golf and other outdoor activities. Married for 25 years, he and his wife have three kids, all of whom were raised in Tallahassee.
Jeff loves going to work every day and establishing new and better relationships with his customers. He not only looks forward to growth within the business, but within Tallahassee in general. He believes that people here have a heart for giving and supporting each other and as a result, the best days are still ahead.
