CodaGenX Systems Networking: high tier support without high tier prices
Childhood friends often dream about growing up to work together. For Kevin Saunders and Greg Schwenk, such dreams became a reality when they opened CodaGenX Systems Networking two years ago. Since then, they have merged their individual talents to serve the community they love.
Both Tallahassee natives and friends since the age of five, Kevin and Greg explored different career paths before ultimately ending up in business together. Kevin left Tallahassee for Grand Junction, Colorado, to get a communication degree at Mesa State University. Right out of college, he entered the radio industry with an interest in sports. He was a morning jock and then eventually hosted a four hour sports talk show in Durango. After six years with radio, Kevin was number one in the market and enjoying the job. His career, though, seemed to be leading him toward other locations; he found he missed Tallahassee too much so he returned home with a new start in mind. Needing to make a living, somehow, he took a job selling cars at Proctor GMC. On the other end of the spectrum, Greg stayed in Florida and immersed himself in the technology industry. He first started working in data entry and training at the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Services (now known as the Department of Children and Family) in 1987. Keeping up with technology, Greg discovered an interest in running the Local Area Network, which was a recent development of the time; he thus took control of an extensive network across a campus. In March of 2007, Greg combined his technological and administrative experience with Kevin’s communication experience to form CodaGenX Systems Networking.
At CodaGenX, Kevin and Greg strive for high tier support without high tier prices. They deem themselves the ultimate service in computer sales and repair and network design and implementation. The remote service they provide allows them to respond to their clients’ needs faster than competitors. Kevin and Greg also work smarter by looking at technology available and offering their customers ways to cut costs. The ability for Kevin and Greg to conduct business in an extremely timely manner has resulted in 100 percent customer retention.
Though Kevin and Greg put forth most of their efforts toward serving their customers, they make sure to serve their community as well. They are members of the Chamber of Commerce Leads Group 6 and are also involved in organizations like the Red Cross and Second Harvest Food bank.
Kevin jokes that he and Greg are complete opposites. Their differences, though, mesh into a combination that fits well. Together they have created a business that has only experienced growth. It has doubled in the past two years and they predict future growth as well. They find satisfaction working together in a successful business and serving the community they have always known and loved.
