Broker Group Realty: solving real estate problems from the dirt to the doors
At Broker Group Realty, Brenda Francis, owner and president for five years, assures her clients that her company can solve real estate needs from the dirt to the doors. Brenda has been serving as a Broker for several years, but has ventured several areas in the real estate industry.
Brenda studied interior design at Delgado Community College in New Orleans. She then moved to Alabama, where she obtained her first license as a real estate professional in 1977. In 1987, she returned to her native city of Tallahassee and received her sales associate license; one year later, she received her broker’s license. Soon after returning to Tallahassee, she found some old college friends working as developers, so she joined them. After the unappealing Comp Plan came into play, though, the business shut down and she moved on. Brenda started working in the residential field, but realized it also wasn’t for her.
Needing a change, Brenda accepted a position from Everitt Drew, the president of SouthGroup Properties, which at the time was the best commercial firm in Tallahassee. Five years later, Everitt sold the company and it became Advantis. Brenda stayed for another five years, but then decided to move out on her own.
In 2001, she embraced the process of attaining her CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation. After taking four core classes, writing a resume of her experience, and passing a six hour final exam, she achieved the prestigious designation, which is considered to be the doctorate of commercial real estate. The training associated with becoming a CCIM has helped her succeed in the industry and specifically with Broker Group Realty.
Today, Brenda specializes in the general commercial real estate industry. Broker Group Realty offers services in commercial investment properties, land sales, site selection, office sales and leasing and more—both inside and outside of Tallahassee and Florida. She attributes her company’s success to the quality service provided. Clients appreciate the quick response, knowledge of the market, and the greater attention to their specific needs that only a small firm like Broker Group Realty can offer.
Professionally, Brenda is involved in the Chamber of Commerce. In her free time, she enjoys reading, photography with her husband, and scrapbooking. She is married to Charlie Francis, who is currently the Chief Judge of the second judicial circuit for Leon and the five surrounding counties. Brenda has two sons, two stepchildren, and seven grandchildren, to whom she is affectionately called “Gamby” instead of Grandma.
Brenda loves living in Tallahassee again, and enjoys being her own boss. At Broker Group Realty, every day is different, as there is always something new to learn and constantly a new set of clients with desires to help. She looks forward to seeing her business grow and continue to meet clients’ varied needs.
